Fire destroys Long County home

Ludowici/Long County Volunteer Fire and Rescue firefighters estimated that 80 percent of a home on Moody Bridge Road was on fire when they arrived.

A fire early Wednesday  destroyed a mobile home on the 2000 block of Moody Bridge Road in Long County.

Ludowici/Long County Volunteer Fire and Rescue Chief Chris Moss said when firefighters arrived at the home it was 80 perecent in flames. He said no one was home at the time and no injuries have been reported.

Moss said it took roughly 30 minutes to bring the flames under control and several hours to knock out hot spots.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
