POSTED: August 9, 2017 9:42 a.m.

The Liberty County School System has cancelled classes for students Aug. 21 because of the solar eclipse. The press release reads:

In preparation for the solar eclipse, Liberty County Schools will be closed for students on August 21, 2017. LCSS students will NOT make up the inclement weather day. All LCSS staff will report to work.

Other districts

Liberty is not alone in its decision, Effingham County Schools and, reportedly, Long County Schools have already decided to cancel classes for the day.
