Scott’s All*Stars collected gently used uniforms and name-brand shoes to give away at the Back to School Rally last Saturday in Riceboro.
All*Stars founder Marcus Scott said many players did not attend the rally because of previous commitments to basketball tournaments. But he said the organization collected a lot of items.
“We teach our kids that giving back is essential, and no matter how successful they become, someone helped them become successful,” Scott said, adding he was proud of his players. “We would also like to thank one of our coaches/mentors, Lonnie Fayson, with his daughters and one of our sponsors, Elisia Rooks, for filling in for the boys at the Back to School Rally.”
The fifth annual Scott’s All*Stars awards banquet will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday, July 21, at Club Stewart on Fort Stewart. WSAV sports director Ken Slats will be the emcee. Savannah businessman Antwan Lang will be the keynote speaker. Tickets for the event are $25 apiece. For more information, call Scott at 912-655-4371.
