Coaches Caravan comes to Evans County

STATESBORO, Ga - Georgia Southern University Athletics is hitting the road for their annual Coaches Caravan.

Georgia Southern alumni, fans, donors and friends are invited to join Eagle Athletics at the Evans County Caravan stop on Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at 6:00 p.m. The Caravan will be located at the Evans County Wildlife Club.

In addition to meeting director of athletics Tom Kleinlein and head coaches Tyson Summers (football), Mark Byington (men's basketball), Kip Drown (women's basketball) and John Murphy (men's soccer), event-goers will also will learn more about recent athletics’ successes, transitions and upcoming seasons, and hear how being part of a team impacts the lives of nearly 400 student-athletes  at Georgia Southern University.

Even more, one-of-a-kind raffle prizes such as coach-autographed footballs and basketballs, football helmets and sideline passes will be drawn!

Admission to the event includes a buffet and Coca-Cola products (and access to the Georgia Southern Inflatables for the kids).  Tickets are currently $20 and will be $25 at the door.  Online ticket sales end Friday, April 21. Children ages ten and under are free.

Additional athletics personnel will be on-site for Eagle Fans to purchase season tickets and make donations to the Athletic Foundation in support of student-athlete scholarships.

The Foundation will also be throwing in a friendly game of competition by challenging each participating area to challenge each other to see who is the truest blue by donating to True Blue 120. The area who raises the most money will not only earn bragging rights but will also win a True Blue 120 tailgate at a 2017 home football game.  The True Blue Caravan challenge will end June 30, 2017.
