The Liberty County Chamber of Commerce 2017-18 Young Adult Liberty Leaders class had a county government session on Nov. 9, hosted by the Liberty County Board of Commissioners.

In this session, class participants got an overview of county departments in addition to a tour of the county jail.

YALL is entering its 12th year as a community leadership initiative.

Class participants take part in a nine-month class, meeting at least once per month to learn about various functions of the community, including county and city government, public health, public education, tourism, economic development and more.

Different local civic, business and government entities host the class each month. The course is part of a statewide collaborative, sponsored by the Georgia Rural Development Council in partnership with The Fanning Institute for Leadership at the University of Georgia.

For more information, you can contact the chamber at 912-368-4445 or visit the chamber website at
