Toys for Tots volunteers prepare to distribute 6,800 toys to local families in need Saturday at the former Jordye Bacon Elementary School in Hinesville. United Way Liberty County office Director Jennifer Darsey, who coordinates the area’s TFT campaign, said the community raised $36,000  to help the 1,700 children on the distribution list. Three-hundred children were placed on a waiting list. One-hundred and forty-seven volunteers participated.
