Area teens inducted into teen honor group

The members of Bryan-Liberty Counties Chapter of Top Ladies of Distinction announced the chartering and induction of 12 teens to the Bryan-Liberty Counties Chapter of Top Teens of America in November at the Liberty County/Armed Forces Branch YMCA.  
Inductees were Clinton Barber Jr., Kalin Barber, Kayah Brantley, Donte Braxton, Jordan Cooper, Koreyah Hills, Reagan Johnson, TyJuan Maynor, Khristen Simmons, Amari Walker, John-Louis Walker and Tiffany Walker. They all were welcomed and sponsored by members of Top Ladies of Distinction Inc. and other members of Top Teens of America from Area IV, which consists of North and South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama and Mississippi.
These local youth are the newest group to obtain membership for Area IV. The chapter equally will service cities within Bryan and Liberty counties.  
The support also included Shauna Glover, Bryan-Liberty Counties TLOD president; Cherisse Johnson, Bryan-Liberty Counties TTA advisor; Semaj Grant, Bryan-Liberty Counties TTA  assistant advisor; Deedra Hinton, Bryan-Liberty Counties TTA  assistant advisor; Nicole Williams, Bryan-Liberty Counties chapter organizer, Ladies of Bryan-Liberty Counties Chapter TLOD Inc.; Carrie Howard, national TTA director; Glendia Bryson-Jacobs, Area IV TTA advisor; Eddie Lee Marsh, national TLOD Area IV director; Cameron Bouligny, national TTA first vice president; Oshjiah Cancer, Area IV TTA president; and other TLOD and TTA officials and members from Augusta, Raleigh and Savannah chapters.
Participating community leaders include Debra Dyer, executive assistant to Liberty County School Superintendent Dr. Valya S. Lee; Liberty Count Board of Commissioners Chairman Donald Lovette; members of the Eleven Black Men of Liberty County;  Hinesville City Councilman Keith Jenkins; Petula Gomillion, president, Hinesville Alumni Chapter Delta Sigma Theta, Inc./executive director, Atlantic Area CASA; Liston Singletary, III, Owner of Coastal Mediation & Associates LLC; Shawntell Greene, T.E.L.L. project coordinator; and other community members and families.
The ladies and teens of the Bryan-Liberty Counties chapter collected canned goods and non-perishable items as admission to the ceremony and donated it to the local food banks.
