The city of Hinesville’s elementary art contest began March 15. The art contest is part of a schedule of events to celebrate Georgia Cities Week during April 18-24. The deadline for the art contest is March 25 and winners will be announced in April during Georgia Cities Week.
“This art contest was created to include elementary students in Hinesville’s celebration of Georgia Cities Week,” Hinesville public relations manager Krystal Britton said. “Although students will be busy with CRCT testing during this week, we want to give them an opportunity to participate in some way.”
This year’s theme is, “My Hinesville.” Guidelines are as follows:
• Create an original art piece
• Use a variety of two-dimensional mediums and techniques including collages, paint, drawing utensils, stamps and other creative ideas
• Make pieces no larger than 16x20 inches
• Create individually expressive works
• One entry per student submitted by March 25
All students, kindergarten-fifth grade, are encouraged to participate in the contest. For more information or to get an entry form, e-mail kbritton@cityofhinesville.org.
