Best sellers among book fest visitors

SAVANNAH — Best-selling authors Scott Turow, Mitch Albom and Eben Alexander will headline the 2014 Savannah Book Festival, set for
Feb. 13-16.
Turow will kick off the festival Feb. 13, with his new mystery-thriller, “Identical.” Albom will give the festival’s keynote address Feb. 14, discussing his latest book, “The First Phone Call from Heaven.” Alexander, a neurosurgeon, will close the festival Feb. 16 with his personal nonfiction narrative, “Proof of Heaven.”
These authors will speak at Trustees Theater, 216 E. Broughton St. in Savannah’s Historic District. Tickets for headline events are $15 each and go on sale Jan. 2 for Savannah Book Festival LITERATI members and sponsors and Jan. 8 for the public. Tickets will be available through Savannah Box Office by calling 912-525-5050 or going to savannahboxoffice.com.
Nearly 40 other authors will speak during the festival’s main day Feb. 15 in free sessions open to the public. Anita Shreve, Wally Lamb and A. Scott Berg will be among the main-day authors. Most writers appearing at the festival have released books within the past year. All participating authors’ newly published books will be for sale, and authors will sign books purchased at the festival.
