Engagement: Floyd, Collins to wed May 7

Captain Marty and Billie Jean Collins of Darien announce the engagement of their daughter, Rebecca Hope Collins, to Roscoe Latham Floyd, son of Jim and Alicia Floyd of Flemington.

The wedding is planned for 6 p.m. May 7 at the Historic Midway Church. A reception is to follow at Bluff Creek Clubhouse.

Paternal grandparents of the bride are Mary Scott and the late William "Crab" Collins. Her maternal grandparents are William and Susan Woodcock, as well as the late Barbara English.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of McIntosh County Academy, Class of 2009. She attended Georgia Southern University and Coastal Pines Technical College, and graduated in 2015 with a degree in practical nursing. Rudy is employed as an LPN at Southeast Georgia Health Systems and as a waitress at the Sunbury Crab Co.

Paternal grandparents of the groom are Jimmy (deceased) and Carolyn Floyd of Fleming. Maternal grandparents are Inez and Randy (deceased) Smith of Flemington.

The groom-elect is a graduate of Savannah Country Day School, Class of 2003. He attended Abraham Baldwin Agriculture College and graduated in 2007 with a degree in forestry. Ross is employed as a heavy-equipment operator for DEA Construction.
