CNN journalist to speak at luncheon

Journalist and CNN political analyst Roland S. Martin will speak at the Savannah Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority’s scholarship luncheon at the Savannah Marriott Riverfront.
The event, “Political Minds in Action,” is at noon Saturday, Oct. 10.
The sorority is a private, nonprofit organization that provides assistance and support through established programs in communities throughout the world. The group is trying to raise $9,000 to present as scholarships next year and proceeds from the luncheon will go to it.
Martin has won more than 20 professional awards for journalistic excellence, including a regional Edward R. Murrow Award from the Radio Television News Directors.
He is a 1991 graduate of Texas A&M University, where he earned a bachelor’s of science degree in journalism. In May 2008, Martin received a master’s degree in Christian communications from Louisiana Baptist University.
Besides commention for CNN, Martin is a commentator for TV One Cable Network.
