The Hinesville Area Arts Council is accepting applications for barbecue contestants for the 13th annual Blues, Brews & BBQ.

Blues, Brews & BBQ will be from 1 to 11:30 p.m. Sept. 24 in downtown Hinesville. Vendors may participate as food vendors only or apply for the barbecue contest. Applications provide the rules and regulations.

Categories include pork, chicken, ribs and people’s choice. Cash prizes and trophies or certificates will be awarded to the first- and second-place winners in each category, with the overall winner receiving a $200 cash prize.

Contestants may also apply to be vendors and sell barbecue throughout the evening. To be eligible as a vendor, the applicant must enter at least one category in the contest. Vendor space is limited. Email chairman@hinesvillearts.com to request an application. Applications can also be downloaded from the HAAC website, hinesvillearts.com by clicking "News" and then "13th Annual Blues, Brews & BBQ Contest/Vendor Application."

The entry fee for the BBQ contest is $25. Vendor fees begin at $50, if submitted by Aug. 19; $75 by Aug. 26; and $100 by Sept. 14. No applications will be accepted after Sept. 16.
