Canoochee EMC has donated computers to three local libraries within its service territory.
The Long County, Pembroke and Claxton libraries all received gently used computers.  Staff and directors of Canoochee EMC delivered them.
“We felt there was a need in our local libraries, and thought that donating our computers would be a great way to help out our communities,” CEMC Director Connie Thrift said.
The computers were used in Canoochee EMC’s offices, but needed to be upgraded to better use software necessary for Canoochee’s employees to properly do their jobs. These computers are in excellent condition and still are capable of doing any task that the libraries may need.
“We thank you very much,” Long County Library Manager Kathy Jackson said.
Canoochee EMC is a member-owned Electric Cooperative serving parts of nine Southeast Georgia counties, including Long County. Being part of nine counties, Canoochee services several different library regions.  So far, two library systems have received donations, the Three Rivers Regional Library System and the Statesboro Regional Library System.
