Spring break cut into participation at this year’s Liberty County Earth Day, but the organizer said she thought everybody was having a good time.

The celebration was Friday at the YMCA field on Mary Lou Drive.

Keep Liberty County Director Sara Swida estimated 65 booths set up activities for children and families, and that several hundred people attended.

“This Earth Day celebration is our way of having an educational activity that will be fun for kids and their families to actually learn about how to take care of the Earth,”  Swida said.
