The Liberty County NAACP had a Black History program Feb. 27 at Brewton-Parker College and sponsored an essay contest.
The program focused on education and featured performances by the Dream Choir and Midway Step Team.
Essay contest winners received medals and certificates.
Guest speaker Pat Gunn of Savannah presented a Geechee rendition called “All dat Geechee.”
Other speakers included the Rev. Ann Jackson and Ministers Edward Allen and Anthony Jackson.
Nicole Carter is the NAACP education chair.
