Balance life's ups and downs

Another day up, another day down. Let’s look at life one day at a time. Yes, we all have a calendar full of appointments and events. But we must slow down and thank God for letting us live one day at a time. We won’t live forever, so it’s important to be grateful for every hour and every day.
As long as our hearts are beating, we know we’re alive — and so does God. 1 Samuel 16:7 tells us God looks into our hearts, which means God knows when we lie or tell the truth. He also knows if we are serious about keeping the vows we make. God knows what emotions are inside our hearts — love, hate, joy, desire, malice, meekness, humility and purity, just to name a few.
The Bible also tells us “Let not your heart be troubled.” There are two ways a heart can be troubled: physically or spiritually. Are you spiritually dead? If so, let God bring you back. Let Him be your “doctor.” We can’t control our own heartbeats; that’s got to be in His hands. We also must remember that heartbeats go up and down, just like life. There will be good days and bad days, but the good days outweigh the bad, and that’s what life’s all about.
You are alive, so get out and live. Strike a balance in your life: God, family, work and rest. The word tells us to put God first and He will take care of everything else. Put Him in charge of your heart and your life. You are alive — make it count. Keep your faith and be blessed.
