Be aware of love, hate in life

So often these days we hear stories about love and hate. In fact, if we look at our own lives and the things going on around us, we can see the impact of love and hate. This love and hate cycle is part of our lives.
But, we must understand that love is stronger than hate. Both are very powerful emotions and can have the devastating affects.
As we see the power of love documented in the Bible, it may help our understanding. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Here we see that love will and has prevailed over hate. Not many people will say what I am about to say. God did not hate His son or the world. He loved both. God hates what we do, not us. He recognizes the hate and sin in our lives and gives us an option to defeat it and achieve everlasting life.
You see, as we get into situations with people we can classify them into several groups, including:  Love the person and the situation, love the person and hate the situation, hate the person and love the situation, or hate the person and hate the situation.
I am not condoning hatred in any manner. I just want us to open our eyes to the fact that it is there. The power of life means loving a person regardless of his or her situation.
Another thing we forget about is loving ourselves. If you don’t love yourself, you cannot love others. Do not be selfish, and strive to understand that you will be judged for what you do, not what someone does.
The bottom line is this: Jesus came, He suffered, He died and was raised up with all the power of the world in His hands. He did it for love, “For God so loved…”
He is coming back. Are you ready? He loves you. Do you love Him or hate Him? What will you hear, “Well done or depart from me?”
