The Bethesda Church mission team recently completed its first overseas mission ministry trip to the Dominican Republic.

During the weeklong trip in early June, the group visited the San Pedro de Macoris City area, where they ministered to a Dominican orphanage, several Haitian Children Centers and a nursing home.

"The mission trip was a great success that produced valuable experiences and made lasting memories," organizers said. "The purpose of this trip was to gain experience, encourage local ministries by lending a helping hand, contributing school supplies and personal-hygiene items and sharing the gospel and love of Jesus Christ."

The "Mission Possible" team members said they would like to thank the citizens of the surrounding counties, Cross Screen Printing, WGML Radio, Fort Stewart DMWR, Christian Outreach International, the Coastal Courier and the Bethesda Church congregation for making the mission trip possible.

A celebration in honor of the group’s supporters will be at 3 p.m. July 23 at Bethesda Church, 116 Patriot’s Trail.

RSVP to the Bethesda Church at 368-6121.
