Members of Life United Pentecostal Church in Hinesville are having dual celebrations this weekend.
The church’s 35th anniversary and Pastor Thomas Crutchfield and first lady Shanna Crutchfield’s 10th anniversary are being held simultaneously. The celebrations began Friday and will conclude with a banquet at 6 p.m. today at the church, 1301 Pipkin Road in Hinesville.
Since taking the helm of Life United Pentecostal Church, Pastor Crutchfield has seen many great things happen there. Pastor Crutchfield (or “Bro C,” as he is called) began pastoring at LUPC about 10 years ago. He said the past decade of growth at the church will be commemorated.
“God has blessed this church with His abundant grace. In this time, we have more than doubled our facilities, seen God miraculously provide and pay them off. Our average attendance on Sundays has grown to over 175 individuals,” Crutchfield said. “Most importantly, we have seen countless lives changed by the gospel of Jesus Christ. Life United Pentecostal has fed over 1,000 families in need through a monthly food ministry. We have hosted several community events including an annual fall festival, and we are active members of the Liberty County United Ministerial Alliance.”
LUPC was founded in 1978  by the Rev. Billy Wilson, who currently serves as pastor emeritus.
At 7 p.m. Friday, the church planned to have an anointing and mantle-passing service. At 2 p.m. Saturday, a vision and next-level service were scheduled.
Culminating services were  Sunday with an evangelism service with Evangelist Tim Greene of Fayetteville, Ga. The final celebration event was a banquet at the church.
Greene has conducted many services at LUPC and is no stranger to churches in Hinesville. A native of Fayetteville, he is an ordained minister of the United Pentecostal Church. As a full-time international evangelist, Greene has traveled across the United States, Canada, the Philippines and South Africa.
“Life is full of great families, and they have made the difference,” Pastor Crutchfield said. “God gave a vision over a decade ago, and it has come to pass. Now, we wait in deep anticipation to see what the next decade brings to this exciting multi-cultural congregation. Please come celebrate with us.”
