Elim Baptist Church will hold a children’s crusade called Champion’s for Christ on Aug. 9-10, featuring a guest chalk artist.
The crusade begins at 5 p.m. Saturday games and a spaghetti dinner. After the meal, children’s minister and chalk artist Darrell Jennings will entertain the group. In addition to games, there also will be magic and puppets for all to enjoy.
The crusade continues Sunday at 11 a.m.  During the morning service, there will be a parade starring the nursery and pre-school student, more puppets and songs from the Elim Baptist Children’s Choir.
Rev. Jennings will give a sermon to the children, teens and adults, followed by a chalk art demonstration.
Also on Sunday morning, there will be a prize given away to one person in the church. Everyone is invited and encouraged to bring friends.
Jennings has been the music and a children’s minister at Coosada Baptist Church in Coosada, Ala., since 2004. He has been serving in church ministry for 17 years, and is a graduate of the University of Alabama-Birmingham.
Jennings is married to Darlene, and they have three daughters, Regan, Bailey and Kendall.
“It is my desire to help others use their gifts and talents in worship to Jesus Christ,” Jennings said. “Music allows us to communicate our deep love for our risen Savior and draws us into His presence.”
People of all faiths are invited to attend. For information, call Gina Riddle at 912-876-4576 or Tina Ray at 912-545-3177.
