Deuteronomy 1:6 (KJV)
6 The LORD our God spake unto us in Horeb, saying, Ye have dwelt long enough in this mount:
The children of Israel were released from the bondage of the Egyptians by the mighty hand of God and now headed towards the promise land which God had promised their fathers before them.

They have reached the mountain of God (Mount Saini) and there God gave unto them instructions and comfort. They had been in bondage for so many years and now they begin to get relaxed and comfortable with being at the mountain. So much so, that many of them did not want to leave where they were. It was convenient, comfortable and their basic needs were being met. They had begun to settle.
But this was not what God had for them. This was not the promise. When God saw how at-ease they had become, he spoke unto them saying, “Get up and move out. You have been here long enough”.

To those of you who are reading this article perhaps God is saying the same thing to you. Maybe you have become content with having “just enough,” but God is trying to get you to “more than enough.”
I know it may be comfortable and convenient but this is not the promise. Deep inside your heart you’re saying I know there is more to life than this. I know that this is not the totality of my life. I know that I was created for more than this.
Whoever you are and wherever you are God is saying to you, don’t settle. Don’t create a permanent address in a temporary location. Don’t settle for the comfortable and convenient. There is more to you than meets the eye. Don’t minimize who you are to make others feel comfortable. Get up and move out towards the promise that God has for you.

Don’t settle!
