One of the most well known scriptures we hear, read, and remember is John 3:16 and it says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever beliveth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Today, just like everyday, you will hear of someone who died. It could be family, friend, coworker or someone you don’t even know. But people die every day. I am not trying to make it a simple thing, but it happens every day. We know not the day or the hour. Just because you got up this morning does not guarantee that you will go to bed tonight. No matter how you look at it we must be ready.
We must understand the importance of getting our life in order with God. No matter how much you love someone else, you can’t do it for them. This is something you’ve
got to do for yourself.
One of the biggest mistakes we make is saying, “I cannot come to God until I get it together.” We must understand that we can’t get it together by ourselves. We have to give it to Him and he will fix it.
OK, so you had a situation with someone yesterday, or fought with your family the day before. Give it to God, if you really want the situation fixed. No one is perfect. That’s why God gave his only son to die for us, giving us the opportunity to live and not die. But we have to make the decision to believe in Him and make a commitment, as his word says.
Bottom line, if you died today where would you go, heaven or hell? Look to God for the strength, encouragement and power to make it through. Encourage someone by treating them positively. Also, ask, “How can I help you get ready?”
God bless you and yours.
