Have faith in Heaven -- it is real

This week my wife and I went to see the movie “Heaven is for real.” It’s about a real-life experience of a young boy who received a glimpse of heaven while he was being operated on with a serious surgery.
Many didn’t believe him and passed it off as some hallucination brought about by a near-death experience. Others thought it to be just a made-up fairy tale story.
Whether you believe his story or not, the truth of the matter is that heaven is for real.
When Jesus was with his disciples, he promised them that he was going to leave this earth and go prepare a place for them that where he was going, they could come also. We find this in John 14:2.
After the thief on the cross realized he was deserving of his punishment, he asked Jesus to remember him when he came into his kingdom. And Jesus responded in Luke 23:43 by saying, “Today you will be with me in paradise.”
We may not know all the mystery about what heaven will be like, but it’s not essential that we do. What really matters is that we get there.
The Scriptures teach us that there is only one way to do that — by choosing to be a follower of Jesus Christ. John 17:3 puts it like this: “Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.”
The good news is that anyone who wants to go to heaven can get to go — all they have to do is to turn from their life of sin to a forgiving and loving Savior.
