“The will of God will not take us where the grace of God cannot sustain us.” Billy Graham said this best.

Think about a butterfly after it has been released from its cocoon. The butterfly flies around Earth gracefully, freely and peacefully. I have never seen a butterfly worried, scared, bitter or depressed. In studying the butterfly, I have noticed how the butterfly flies from one flower to another with grace and assurance. It appears to me that the butterfly is flying into the grace of God.

Our lives can resemble the life of a butterfly. Once we are released from our own cocoon that has been wrapped in guilt, shame, despair, dishonesty, disbelief and disobedience, we all can begin our process of flying into the grace of God. God’s grace is sufficient for us if we are willing to trust in him.

Let’s look back on the cocoon. The outer covering does not look appealing in the natural. The transformation is a hard, yet necessary process. What is happening inside the cocoon is where we will find the beauty of God’s creation being formed. The metamorphosis is what we as God’s children have to go through when God changes us after we accept him as our Lord and Savior and when we have accepted our calling that God has placed on us as a seed. The process of change is very hard; however, with a determined mind and a sure heart, we can endure the process.

The caterpillar seemingly knew that somewhere in its life, a change was going to take place. God placed that mandate within the developmental stages of the caterpillar’s life. Now, take us humans; we pretty much have the same developmental stages as a caterpillar, cocoon and butterfly. So let us all go through all storms, heartaches, losses, disrespect and even lack of knowledge so we can gain all that God aspires to give us. In going through our change of heart, renewed thinking, increased faith and devoted love, start looking at the beautiful butterfly that is inside your cocoon. As God finishes his creation within you, watch the beautiful butterfly fly into the grace of God. God’s grace will lead us to living a free, peaceful and graceful life.

Let today be the day you start flying into the grace of God.
