Many things make life worthwile

Life is worth living. Some do not think so and take their lives, not realizing there is a better answer.
Not many people get through life without having problems of one sort or another. It may be the loss of a job, too many bills, ill health or the passing of a loved one. Those things are just part of life.
What can a person do when they feel so overcome that they do not know where to turn? Some turn to alcohol or drugs, and their problems only get worse. Others look to themselves for all the answers, but they do not have the knowledge or wisdom to deal with their problems and, overwhelmed, they give up.
They need to turn to God, yet many do not because they have been taught to not believe in God. So instead of turning to the one being that can help them through, they end it all.
God is there for everyone at any time. Perhaps one of the most comforting verses found in the Bible was recorded by the Apostle Peter: “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you” (1 Peter 5:7). Imagine — Jehovah God cares for you. He is concerned about you and your difficulties.
Jesus had the same message in his ministry. As he preached to the masses (Matthew 4:25), he told them of God’s concern and care for man. He used simple things to help them understand his meaning. “Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air, for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?” (Matthew 6:25-26)
What a thought-provoking question. When you are so concerned with life, stop and ask, “Aren’t I better than the birds of the field?” God thinks you are. Now not to misunderstand, Jesus is not saying do nothing and everything will come to you — that violates Biblical principles — but do what you can do and then leave the rest to God.
God has given man so many blessings. The world in which we live, the beauty of nature, the changing seasons, the rain and sunshine all are blessings from God. Family is another blessing given by God, though some do not see it that way and take family for granted. Nothing is more precious that the laughter of a child, the love of a spouse or the love of a parent for a child. Friendship is another blessing in that God has given us people to whom secrets can be told and support found in troublesome times.
All these things are blessings but not the greatest one. The greatest blessing God has given is the promise of eternal life through Jesus.
Yes, there are some things man has to do to obtain eternal life, but those things are not difficult to do. Another blessing from God helps find the answer as to what God wants man to do, and that is the Bible itself. Imagine a book given from God (2 Timothy 3:16-17) with instructions for man. Believe in Christ that he is God’s only begotten son (Hebrews 11:6), repent of your sins (Luke 13:3) and confess the name of Jesus before men (Matthew 10:32-33), be baptized (immersed) for the remission of your sins (Acts 2:38) and then live for Jesus all your life (Revelation 2:10b).
Do these things and heaven awaits. And while on Earth, know the peace of God, trusting in and following him. Yes, life is worth living — put your trust in God.
