Pastor Howard McArthur is no novice to the ministry. He has been in the field for 35 years and has served as a pastor for 28 years. McArthur currently is pastor of the Aisle of Hope Holiness Church in Hinesville.
Before coming to Aisle of Hope, McArthur was pastor at the  Upper Room Holiness Church  in Baxley, Zion Temple Holiness in Glennville, St. John Holiness in Ludowici and Faith Deliverance in Oak Park.
“Faith Deliverance is outside Vidalia and is the first church where I served as pastor,” McArthur said. “I have been the pastor of Aisle of Hope for almost 15 years.”
Despite a small membership, the church has various ministries. In addition to the pastoral ministry, there are youth, evangelistic, mission and music ministries.
The church also has some gifted musicians, including McArthur. He plays the guitar, keyboard, sings and composes music.
“The people at Aisle of Hope are very loving and nice. They are saved and wholesome,” he said. “My vision is to promote growth and to help people in the surrounding community. Being entrusted with the word of God is inspiring. It is a blessing to preach the gospel. I want to be a great help to people and win souls for Christ.”
McArthur singled out Sarah Lumpkins as a parishioner whose life has been impacted by the ministry and who has had a significant impact on him and the ministry.
His advice to pastors is to be real at what they are doing because it is kingdom work.
“Your life living and what you are preaching and teaching should measure up. Be a good example to the flock you are ministering to. As much as possible, be led by the spirit of God. Don’t use gimmick and tricks when ministering to people,” McArthur said.
McArthur and his wife, Beavor Ann McArthur, live in Hazelhurst.  They have been married for 37 years and have one son (Kelvin) and six grandchildren. Beavor McArthur teaches Sunday school.
Pastor McArthur is employeed at Propex Inc. in Hazelhurst. He is a receiving clerk/coordinator.
In his spare time, the pastor said he and his wife relax by sitting on their porch.
McArthur and the members of Aisle of Hope Holiness Church invite you to come and worship with them.  Sunday school is every Sunday at 10 a.m. and morning worship is at 11:30. Bible study/prayer is on Wednesdays at 7:45 p.m., and evangelistic service is on Fridays at 7:45 p.m.
