The scripture teaches us that there is a battle going on in the spiritual realm.
In Ephesians, we are told that "our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realm".
When we make prayer a priority, it gets the attention of Satan himself. He would rather have us do anything but pray.
I had a pastor friend who went down this road only to be afflicted physically where he couldn’t even get out of bed one Sunday to preach. He wasn’t sick but just couldn’t move because he was under spiritual attack.
When we at New Beginnings recently decided to make prayer a priority, the person who is heading the new prayer ministry had his family come under direct attack.
This past week I have experienced an unexplained physical attack as well. But the Lord will get the honor and glory. We had a meeting this past Sunday with interested members who are going to make a commitment to be part of this new ministry and filled the room to overflowing with volunteers.
We know that the devil will not like it and will fight back, but we also understand that the scripture says that "greater is he who is in you than he that is in the world."
We are anticipating real victories in the days ahead as we are trusting in the power of God.
