For the first time, the pope released his monthly prayer intentions in a video.

Most of the planets inhabitants declare themselves believers, said Pope Francis in the video posted Jan. 6. This should lead to dialogue among religions. We should not stop praying for it and collaborating with those who think differently.

The monthly prayer intention videos are released through the Apostleship of Prayer, a Jesuit organization. Grace Mazza Urbanski, director of the Childrens Ministry at the Apostleship of Prayer, wrote a blog post about the release of the video on the organizations website.

Starting with Leo XIII in 1890, every pope has entrusted his own personal prayer intentions of the Apostleship of Prayer, she wrote. Our job is to make sure everyone who wants to pray with the Pope knows exactly what is on his heart.

USA Today reported that the monthly videos will be distributed on various social media platforms and on the Apostleship of Prayers app.
