Pray for a change of heart

What are you fasting for? What are you praying for? In what do you have faith?
Man’s attempts, or quest, for natural gain has man forgetting that the reason Jesus came is for us to have everlasting life and live more abundantly. That life is filled with power, authority and dominion over the works of the enemy (Luke 10:19).
When we take our eyes off God, we begin praying, wishing and hoping for worldly gain and not for the spiritual connection, where our focus is completely on things of God. That quest also will have us praying for material blessings for selfish gain — to have more — rather than praying for the inclusion of God’s will in the life of the believer.
We have lost the ability to be content. “But Godliness with contentment is great gain” (1 Timothy 6:6). The flesh will never be content! So why do we continue to ask God for things that will never satisfy or endure to the end?
We have traded in the word of God and started listening to those who preach that Godliness is gain. Teaching that Jesus came so your life can and will be rewarded with natural rewards and riches — even when the written word of God tells us to stay from teachers like them
(1 Timothy 6:3-5).
Again, I ask, “What are you fasting for? What are you praying for? In what do you have faith?”
“For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” (Mark 8:36-37)
“For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof, but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever” (1 John 2:16-17).
Never attempt to fulfill your spirituality through fleshly means. I often ask people that since the flesh is never satisfied, how much money would it take for you to take no thought for tomorrow?
“Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?” (Matthew 6:25)
Give your life to God, believe in Christ, change your thinking and you will change your heart. Amen.
