Remember who gave us freedom

We just celebrated the 4th of July, the anniversary of the date when America gained the right to be independent from all other nations. Our country’s independence is part of God’s gift of freedom. Many men and women have given their lives for our nation, attempting to retain our freedom and protect America from its enemies.
In America, we have the freedom to be whoever or whatever we want to be. And even though this freedom costs lives, we often take our independence for granted. We don't consider the sacrifices that are constantly being made to ensure we have choices.
I thank God for Americans who are willing to lay down their lives for the high price of freedom. The freedom we Americans enjoy is a great privilege and we should never forget its price or take it for granted.
America was founded on Godly principles and our independence is the result of Jesus Christ’s sacrifice. Our forefathers recognized that Jesus is the foundation of the principles that make America a great nation. They based the laws of our Nation on Biblical principles.
“Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people.” (Proverbs 14:34)
America is made up of peoples from diverse cultures. In the midst of many differences, the truth still stands that the only hope for America is Jesus Christ.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
Sin is a disgrace to all people and we must repent of our sins against God and turn from our wicked ways. Because of God’s love for the world, He has given us hope in and through His Son, Jesus. In Jesus is life and the life of Jesus is the light of men. I thank God that Jesus is still the only hope for America.  God bless our great nation.
