Schedule time for God
pastor corner

Life is always busy. Jobs, family, recreation and other things crowd schedules.

There is something that fills most every hour. The calendar pages turn as if a fan is blowing them at high speed. Spring, summer, fall, winter and it all starts again. The thing that all should remember during all this hustle and bustle is that the one who gave man life and all the things he has, requires some of that precious time.

There are those who say that they are going to give God some time, one day when they find time. However, that day may never come for so many because they allow other things to fill their minds and time.

Life happens, and the calendars get filled in with all kinds of things. Too often taking time for Bible study for many of them gets left off the page. In fact in the lives of some God is only a faint memory. This is not good.

Everyone should remember that life is but for a short time. James wrote, "Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away" (James 4:14).

Solomon wrote, "Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them" (Ecclesiastes 12:1).

This means that all should look to God and his word on a regular basis. Studying the Bible needs to be put in everyone’s schedule. If it is not scheduled it may not happen. It will take dedication to staying on tract studying on a regular basis.

Most smart phones can have an app containing the Bible. A copy of the Bible can be purchased for a very small price. The point is that it is available and that should not be used as a reason not to study God’s word.

When people begin to read and study the Bible they are amazed to find out that God is concerned about them. He cares for everything and everyone (Matthew 6:25-30). God has blessed mankind with things, both physical and spiritual. The failure to schedule time for God robs the individual of knowing God’s love and sacrifice for them.

God’s word teaches about the Church that Christ built. "And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it" (Matthew 16:18).

"Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood" (Acts 20:28).

What a shame it will be if anyone fails to schedule time to study God’s word and loses their soul because of scheduling.

God wants all to prepare for the end of this short life. His desire is that all should be saved. He allowed man to crucify his Son, this was in his plan for salvation (Acts 2:23).

The Bible gives examples of how people in the first century obeyed the Gospel and were saved (Acts 2:37-38, Acts 8:4-13, 26-39, Acts 9:1-20, 22:6-16, Acts 16:13-15, 23-34). It also tells man that he must remain faithful to God, no matter what (I Corinthians 15:1-4; Revelation 2:10).

Put God and his word in your schedule starting today. Give God 10 or 30 minutes of the day. Spend time with God.
