St. Philip’s Episcopal Church hosted the 10th bishop of Georgia, the Right Reverend Scott Anson Benhase, for his annual visitation Sunday, Oct. 6.
The evening prior, the St. Philip’s vestry hosted Benhase in an informal dinner in which they were updated on several programs the Diocese of Georgia is undertaking. There also was general discussion, led by the bishop, on ways the parish could increase its impact on the community.
The Sunday service included the reaffirmation of baptismal vows conducted by the bishop.
“Hosting the Bishop is an event that St. Philip’s looks forward to each year. Bishop Benhase always has an inspiring message that we are eager to hear. We are honored to have him visit us,” Larry Hyatt, St. Philip’s senior warden, said.
St. Philip’s Episcopal Church is a parish of the Episcopal Diocese of Georgia at 302 E. Gen. Stewart Way in Hinesville.
