Stop Satan from destroying

The mind is where the attack starts.

It’s the part of the body that when you change it, it’s hard to change it back. The enemy knows this, so he’ll do all he can to shape and mold your mind for his purposes. Everything you see, everything you hear, all your experiences help shape your thoughts.

Even the experience in your mother’s womb has shaped your behavior. Your mind is either your best friend, or your worst nightmare.

You and I have two enemies. The first enemy to us is oneself, and the Bible says in Romans 12:5 “Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sin.” The one man is Adam, and when Adam ate from the forbidden fruit, he sinned against God. Sin is when we do something that’s different from what God’s word says to do.

Sin has weight; it’s heavy and carries a big price tag. The Bible says in Psalm 51:5, “Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, And in sin my mother conceived me.” In other words, we were born in sin and shaped in iniquity. Sin has shaped our lives from our conception.

The Bible also says “The wages of sin is death” (NKJV Romans 6:23a). The Apostle Paul explains to us that sin wages a war against us, and sin is going to kill us. And because you and I were born of Adam’s bloodline, we were born on the wrong side of the “blood tracks.” Our ancestor passed his sinful nature (from the forbidden fruit of disobedience) to us.

And the father of sin is Satan, and his nature is to go against God. From day one, your father and my father, Satan, has been trying to kill, steal and destroy us. Only fathers who are against God will try to kill his on children!

But how does he do that? He does it by using temptations that are assigned to us from birth to learn our behavior and what we are exposed to at an early age. They learn our likes and dislikes so that they can set up land mines; every time we step on a land mine, it takes us further away from God. Our minds become a field filled with mines. Remember, Satan only comes to kill, steal and destroy us, and land mines are set in your mind to destroy you from reaching your destiny.

So during this holiday season, remember to fill your minds with delectable delights and meditate on things that are nurturing to your mind, body and soul.

Be intentional to do this, so that your field will yield good fruit for others to enjoy!
