Through Jesus, go out like a lamb
pastor corner

One of the favorite sayings about the month of March is, “In like a lion, out like a lamb.”
This saying means that the weather at the beginning of March can be pretty brutal, but by the end of the month, we generally see more pleasant weather. This looks like it’s the way it is heading this year in most areas of the United States.
Spiritual lives seem to follow this pattern. The Scriptures tell us we come into this world as sinners, far away from God. Romans 3:23 says, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” We start out our lives in need of a Savior, with the consequences of our sins being eternal damnation and total separation from God. We really come into this world looking pretty rough spiritually (like a lion).
The good news, however, is that we don’t have to end up that way; there is hope for better days. We can come out the other end of our life with a pleasant picture.
Jesus Christ can come into our lives and change everything. He can change where we will end up when we die, as well as who we are as we live out this life on Earth. We can leave this life with others seeing a person pleasant to be around, living out a witness of a changed life. Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
The good news is that no matter who you are or what you have done, you can leave this world like a lamb.
