What if life begins sooner than later?

This week marked the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, a decision that made abortions legal. Since that decision, more than 54 million fetuses have been aborted, according to the National Right to Life Committee.
Experts in religious, scientific and medical fields have debated the issue of when life begins. Some who say that life begins later on in the pregnancy would contend that that which is growing inside a women’s belly is just a mass of tissue.
Others would say that life begins at conception and that this so-called mass of tissue actually is a developing, living human being. Scripture that supports the latter is in Psalms 51 where David says, “Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.” How can he be considered being sinful if he is not a human being?
Let’s say you don’t really value what the Bible says, or you don’t interpret Scripture as being against abortion. What if life begins sooner that you think? What if millions of babies have been killed because of the lack of knowledge on the part of experts?
Let’s say that abortion is legal up to 24 weeks of a pregnancy. What if they miss it by only one month, one week or one day? This still would represent a huge amount of babies.
Recently, a gunman went into a school in Connecticut and killed 20 innocent children, which was an atrocity. But what if millions of babies who had no opportunity to run, hide or be protected have been killed legally in this country?
The Connecticut school shooting sent outrage, anger and an urgency to do something to prevent further violence, which was a right response. But what if life begins sooner than some think? Shouldn’t we be just as outraged and angered and have a sense of urgency to stop the abortions from continuing?
