BRUNSWICK — Bring the kids, tell your friends, sharpen up your old-timey game skills. It’s time to celebrate Independence Day with an evening of fun, fanfare and fireworks.

Brunswick’s Old-Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration takes place in Mary Ross Waterfront Park downtown starting at 7 p.m. July 4.

There will be free watermelon, music and plenty of old-fashioned games like sack races, water balloon tossing and Hula Hoop contests, along with prizes.

Local organizatons, Heather House and the Brunswick Police Deparment C.O.P. program will have hot dogs, hamburgers, sodas and more for sale.
At dark, a fireworks display explodes over the East River to the strains of patriotic music.

TYBEE ISLAND — Tybee Island’s Independence Day fireworks extravaganzas has been set for 9:30-10 p.m. July 4 around the pier and pavilion.
