Coastal Manor hosted dedicating a butterfly garden in memory of Joan Hollingsworth during a ceremony Thursday.
The Hollingsworth family, as well as retired teachers and administrators who worked with the former principal of Bradwell Institute, Liberty Regional Medical employees and friends from the community attended the memorial.
Liberty Regional CEO Mike Hester unveiled a plaque dressed in Bradwell’s blue and gold, naming the garden in memory of the longtime educator. Former Superintendent of Schools Ed Edwards gave an invocation and current County Board of Commissioners Chairman Donald Lovette shared memories with those in attendance.
Lisa Saitow, Hollingsworth’s niece, read Scripture and reflected on the relationship she shared with her favorite aunt.
The occasion was accented by butterflies flocking to the flowers planted in the garden during the dedication.
