Hinesville Fire Department representatives talked to Golden Heirs at the April meeting. “Safety in the home” was the topic taught by firefighter Charles Helton and engineer Larry Dasher. Some safety measures given for people to follow are:
• Check smoke detectors regularly and change batteries.
• Call for an inspection if needed.
• Test hot-water heater for proper heat setting.
• Bring car seats in for instruction of proper use.
• Call when help is needed, the fire department is ready to help in many areas.
• The fire department also offers classes in CPR, childcare and more.
Golden Heirs is a senior group that meets the first Tuesday of each month at First Baptist Church in Hinesville. There is a covered-dish lunch at noon followed by a program. The next meeting is May 4.
“All seniors are invited to come and fellowship with us,” President John Stetzer said. “Our program will be on the Baptist Village at Waycross.”
