At the Goldenheirs’ May meeting, Brenda McMillan, registered nurse and quality improvement specialist for St. Joseph’s/Candler Home Healthcare Services, spoke about home health care and how it contributes to recuperation.
“With the advancement of medical technology, many conditions which previously required extended hospital stays are being treated at home,” McMillan said. “Also, patients tend to be happier and more at ease in their own homes.”
Goldenheirs is a senior group that meets the first Tuesday of each month at the First Baptist Church for a covered-dish dinner and program. The next meeting is Tuesday, June 7.
“All seniors are invited to attend,” President George Laseter said.
