Guardians In Action hosted a food drive Sept. 22 at the Ludowici IGA to support the Long County Community Food Bank.

With the help of Smiley Elementary students and faculty, members of Guardians In Action and the community collected 2,356 nonperishable food items for the bank.

Guardians In Action Inc. is a Georgia registered nonprofit organization that was established July 23, 2012. Staff Sgt. Ernest Davis is the founder and president. Active-duty soldiers who are stationed on Fort Stewart are board members and the majority of the organization’s members. Members participate in volunteer activities in Liberty and Long counties to help feed the hungry and homeless and participate in progressive activities.
