Hinesvill Rotary honors soldier

The Hinesville Rotary Club honored its Soldier of the Month on Tuesday. Spc. Brent A. Rapp joined the Ohio National Guard in July 2000. Rapp joined active duty in March 2002. His assignment was as a paralegal specialist for Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 1st Battalion, 39th Field Artillery Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division.
He deployed to Kuwait in January 2003 and Iraq in January 2005.
Rapp was medically discharged on in April 2006 due to an injury, but re-entered active duty and attended One Station Unit Training at Fort Knox, Ky., in 2008. He graduated in June as a calvary scout. Upon graduating, he returned to Fort Stewart and was assigned to Troop C, 3rd Squadron, 7th U.S. Cavalry Regiment.
