The Hinesville American Legion Post 168 Ladies Auxiliary recently honored graduated students in Long and Liberty County and helped pay to continue their educations.
The Auxiliary presented $500 scholarships to Sara Parker from Long County High School and Nakeya Carmichael from Liberty County High School.
The Auxiliary also sponsored two students to attend Girls State at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro. First Presbyterian Christian Academy’s representative was Kelsey Higgason, and Liberty County High School’s representative was Jessica Kohler. The Auxiliary paid $210 per girl to attend this week-long session and gave each girl $20 for spending money.
