Breast cancer awareness week in Ludowici

Ludowici Mayor Myrtice Warren signed has proclaimed Oct. 15-19 as Breast Cancer Prevention and Awareness Week.
Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death for women in the United States and in Georgia. This year, an estimated 1,050 women in Georgia will die of breast cancer and another 5,180 will be diagnosed with the disease.
Georgia is committed to educating every Georgia citizen on the importance of breast cancer screening, early detection and healthy living.
The Georgia Department of Human Resources, Chronic Disease Branch and the American Cancer Society, in conjunction with National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, are sponsoring the fourth annual Breast Cancer Prevention and Awareness Week to unite all citizens of Georgia on awareness of breast health,
