The Liberty County Health Department will host a drive-through immunization clinic from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday.
Anyone wishing to get a flu shot ($25), a pneumonia shot ($40), a tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis vaccine or tetanus shot ($14) should come to the James A. Brown Park, exit Highway 84 left onto Patriot's Trail, or take Tupelo Trail and follow directions supplied by the Hinesville Police Department.
In addition to never having to leave the car, participants can fill in forms — available at the health department, library, senior citizen's center and some workplaces — and bring them to the park to flow smoothly through the drive-through without interruptions.
Immunizations for children may be easier if done in a clinic setting.
Representatives of the Liberty County Emergency Management Agency, Hinesville Police Department and Emergency Medical Services will be on hand to assist. Other agencies will evaluate this year's immunization dispensary exercise.
With a few modifications, the health department will follow this procedure in the event of a pandemic when there is a need for mass distribution of medications.
For more information on the locations of forms in the community or to get copies, call Linda Ratcliffe at 876-2173, extension 236.
