Elise Stafford, administrator of Coastal Manor nursing home in Ludowici, spoke to Goldenheirs members about long-term care for seniors during the club’s October meeting.
Stafford emphasized the importance of considering a variety of care options and getting all legal documents in order to prevent problems from arising. Careful planning is the key to eliminating problems, she said.
Goldenheirs is a senior citizens’ group that meets on the first Tuesday of each month at First Baptist Church in Hinesville for a covered-dish lunch at noon and a program afterward.
The next meeting is Monday, Nov. 8 because First Baptist’s social hall is used as a voting facility on election days. The group will discuss plans for a Christmas luncheon at noon on Tuesday, Dec. 7. Christian entertainer Carey Knowles will perform, there will be special guests and Lynn Cannon will cater the event.
The guest speaker Monday will be Liberty County Planning Commission representative Rachel Hatcher, who will talk about Liberty Transit.
