The March of Dimes Georgia Chapter awarded a grant to the Liberty County Health Department to support Healthy Hero Babies.
The program aims to meet underserved maternal and child health needs and provide service to all pregnant women in Liberty County, specifically military dependents and active duty female soldiers who typically do not receive prenatal care until their second trimester, according to Deidre Michelson, Liberty County Health Department administrator.
The grant is one of the March of Dimes awards in pursuit of its mission to prevent birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.
