On Thursday, March 27, Dr. Carlene Taylor, behavioral health-care professional and member of the Southeast Georgia Health System medical staff, will give a lecture titled “Mental Health Issues and Resources.” Her presentation will offer information on the seriousness of mental-health issues and available treatment options.
The free lecture is from noon-1 p.m. at the Southeast Georgia Health System Camden campus, cafeteria conference room, 2000 Dan Proctor Drive in St. Marys.
This event is part of a program that features monthly lectures on various health-related topics. A question-and-answer session is included at the conclusion of each lecture, and a light lunch is served.
 
ADA fashion show set for March 29
 The American Diabetes Association will present the second annual ADA Rock the Runway Fashion Show, "Flower Bomb: Reawaken Your Senses" on Saturday, March 29, at Savannah Station, 601 Cohen St. in Savannah. The annual event benefits the ADA's Kiss-A-Pig Campaign, the largest diabetes-awareness and fundraising event of the year.
The red carpet pre-party starts at 5:30 p.m., doors open at 6:30, and the runway show begins at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $45 per person and includes the pre-party, open bar and food stations featuring creations by local chefs. Participating restaurants and vendors include Leoci's, Carleone's, bar•food/coffee•deli, Form II Table, Captain John Derst's and Jumpin' Goat Coffee. Red Shoe Run
The Ronald McDonald House Charities' Red Shoe Run 5K and Teddy Bear Walk is Saturday, April 5, at the Ronald McDonald House in Savannah. Registration is from 7-8:15 a.m.; the quarter-mile kiddie run is at 8:30 a.m., and the main race is at 8:45 a.m. The awards presentation is at 10 a.m. Packet pick-up is from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday, April 4.
Dubbed the "mini-bridge run," this 5K is a training opportunity for those preparing for the annual Savannah Bridge Run in December. Participants with strollers are welcome.
Come for the "5K Run, Walk or Stroller," and stay for the free "Teddy Bear Hospital" and after-party.
A cookout lunch will be provided by Sam's Club in Pooler, drinks from Coca-Cola Bottling of Savannah and desserts by Joe's Homemade Café. Live music will be provided by Ricky Standard. There will be face painting, games, activities and more.

Rape Crisis Center auction is April 16
 The Rape Crisis Center of the Coastal Empire will have the Unmasquerade Live and Silent Auction at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 16, at the Andaz Hotel, formerly Avia, on Ellis Square in Savannah. Formal attire is required, and the event will feature an open bar, heavy hors d'oeuvres and free parking. Honorees are District Attorney Meg Heap and interim Police Chief Julie Tolbert. Author and motivational speaker Jenny Lynn Anderson will address the crowd. Ticket are $100 each or $700 for a table of eight.
