Hospitals welcome first babies to 2014

Staff Sgt. Kimby Hilton and her husband Sgt. 1st Class Michael Hilton welcomed their first baby, a girl, on Jan. 2 at Winn Army Community Hospital. Baby Hilton was the first WACH baby of 2014. No babies were born at the hospital on New Year’s Day.
Acting Hospital Commander Lt. Col. Richard Malish and MEDDAC Command Sgt. Maj. Joseph Cecil presented the couple with two gift baskets provided by the WACH Department of Ministry and Pastoral Care.

Wayne Memorial Hospital
Weighing in at 5 pounds, 8 ounces and measuring 19.5 inches long, baby Sara Kay Mallard was born at 11:14 p.m. Jan. 1. The digits of her birth date, 1-1-14, match the exact time of her birth, 11:14 p.m. She was the first baby born in 2014 at Wayne Memorial. Baby Sara is the daughter of Jody and Brett Mallard. She also is welcomed by an older sister, 19-month-old Emma Kate Mallard. Dr. Jeffrey Harris and nurses Penny Jackson and Michelle Daniels delivered Sara.
