WASHINGTON, D.C. — Rep. Jack Kingston, R-Ga., announced recently that he will sponsor a series of workshops during the open enrollment season for the Medicare Part D prescription drug program.
Those who are enrolled or wish to enroll in the program must sign up or make changes during the open enrollment period, which runs from Nov. 15-Dec. 31.
The following workshops are scheduled for Liberty and Long counties:

• Medicare Part D workshop

When: 9 a.m.-noon, Monday, Dec. 14
Where: Savannah Technical College’s Hinesville campus, 100 Technology Drive, computer lab 109.

• Medicare Part D workshop
When: 3-5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2
Where: Fort Valley State University’s mobile computer lab outside the Long County Senior Center, 15 Thornton Drive, Ludowici.

Anyone eligible for the plan can attend. Staff from Georgia Cares, a program of the Georgia Department of Human Resources and Division of Aging Services and Area Agencies on Aging, will answer questions.
“The cost and coverage of the Medicare prescription drug plan can change
over time,” Kingston said.
“I encourage those people with Medicare to take this time to review those changes and make sure they still have the plan that best fits their needs or the needs of their loved one. Adequate prescription drug coverage is very important to many older Americans and we want to make sure that all of their questions are answered.”
