Lisa Johnson Sommers of Richmond Hill recently joined The Coastal Family of Pharmacies and will split her time between two locations: Richmond Hill Pharmacy and Hinesville Pharmacy.
Sommers, who has a particular interest in drug-therapy education, will help administer the vaccination program for both pharmacies in addition to preparing patient medications.
“Lisa is an accomplished pharmacist, and we are excited to have her join our pharmacy family,” owner Al Dixon said. “Her professional demeanor, along with her enthusiasm to aid and educate patients, make her an excellent addition to our staff.”
Originally from Tifton, Sommers attended Abraham Baldwin College. After two years of undergraduate education in the pre-pharmacy program, she was accepted to the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy.
In 2006, Sommers graduated with a Doctor of Pharmacy professional degree.
Following graduation, she began her pharmacy career and worked at Quick RX in Savannah for seven years.
Sommers lives in Richmond Hill with her husband and two children. In her spare time, Sommers enjoys boating with her family and reading.
Richmond Hill Pharmacy, part of the Coastal Family of Pharmacies, has been serving customers in the Richmond Hill area since 1984.
The Coastal Family of Pharmacies also includes Medical Center Pharmacy at Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah and Hinesville Pharmacy in Hinesville.
All three locations offer prescription compounding, blood-pressure monitoring and diabetic education.
Richmond Hill and Hinesville pharmacies also offer a range of medical equipment, including diabetic supplies, and each features The Gallery Gift Shop.
